The term yoga comes
from the Sanskrit word meaning " the union of the physical self with the
Universal Spirit." Yoga
involves a series of stretching postures, called asanas , and
breathing exercises. These movements calm the mind and to tone and strengthen the
body.
Om
This mantra does not belong to
any particular language. It is a natural syllable. It is nature's word,
nature's mantra...It is the symbol of the supreme Brahman which is the
ultimate Reality sought by all spiritual practitioners. It stands for
the pure consciousness which pervades the three states of waking, dream
and deep-sleep. It is also called Pranava, which means something that
pervades life of runs through prana or breath...
Enjoy the benefits of
yoga by stretching your body mindfully you breathe deeply. Let your body
flow easily
into a posture. There should be no strain. Stretching and awakening
your spine is an enjoyable body
holiday. Learn how to listen
to your body, going with it and not against it. Center your attention
on the very point of resistance and ask for a release.
You will be amazed at how your body can change.
Sometimes the best antidote to our worries is simply to live from one breathe to the next in mindful
centered breathing.
